My name is Kevin Alter.
The truth is I grew up in a good home. I didn’t grow up in an orphanage, a project building, or a one bedroom apartment. I had two loving parents, a comfortable home with a backyard, a pool, a basketball hoop, and even a golden retriever.
Not exactly your standard breeding ground for drug addicts. We had dinner together every night, and my parents attended every sporting event. My mom taught a religion class, and my dad was the guy with his camera at every game I played in. I was raised to know right from wrong. I am the youngest of three children, and for the first 15 years of my life, things went seemingly well. I excelled in academics, had plenty of friends, and seemed like your average kid.
I tried my first drug at the age of 16 and that is when things changed forever…
